Abstract

A half-day symposium exploring the extraordinary world view and unique voice of LA artist Jim Shaw. Jim Shaw’s Imaginarium examines his work within a context of a pivotal group of influential West Coast artists. 

Contributions and presentations by John C. Welchman, Professor of Modern and Contemporary Art History/Criticism at the University of California, San Diego, Darcey Steinke, American writer and novelist, Laurence Sillars, BALTIC Chief Curator and David Campbell, Professor of Fine Art at Northumbria University.
