Abstract

A new multiplexing technique based on compound frequency and width modulation (CPFWM) for transmission of analogue signals over optical fibre cable is reported. Spectral prediction and signal-to-noise ratio performance obtained from the formula and computer simulation, using TESLA and MATLAB, show close agreement with the experimental results obtained from a practical CPFWM system.
