Additional Information: O'Brien is sixth author, but is an equal status author. This was the first study to demonstrate the presence of auditory sensory filtering disabilities in autism, similar to those well-known in the autist's visual functioning. O'Brien was lead behavioural clinical researcher in the study - Prof T Griffiths (Newcastle University) was lead neuro-physiological laboratory researcher. The study was conceived, designed and led by O'Brien and Griffiths in collaboration.
