Abstract

The present invention discloses the making process of arbitrary function sampling optical fiber grating. Parallel ultraviolet ray is used to irradiate the amplitude mask plate, the amplitude mask plate is used to amplitude modulate the incident parallel ultraviolet ray, and phase mask plate is used to scan and expose photosensitive optical fiber. The making process includes the following steps: expanding the ultraviolet beam with an ultraviolet beam expander before irradiating the amplitude mask plate; and compressing the ultraviolet ray spot with an ultraviolet beam focusing device after amplitude modulation and before scanning and exposing photosensitive optical fiber. The said method may be used in making optical fiber grating of any function sampling in relatively simple process and is suitable for the mass production of the device.
