Abstract

Western models of intellectual property law do very little to provide for traditional knowledge and its various manifestations. Indeed most western-centric models create enormous obstacles conceptually and procedurally for indigenous cultural property. This paper considers the nature of these challenges and the steps that are being taken to address them in some Pacific Island States.
