Abstract
This article presents a new analysis of film reassessed as transmitting information to the spectator. Transmission can be split into narrational and nonnarrational transmission. Transmission demonstrates that narrative and spectacle are coexistent and closely linked. The lobby shootout from The Matrix demonstrates two forms of spectacle: event and object spectacle. Their characteristics are analyzed.
