Abstract
The photonic generation, up-conversion and down-conversion of impulse-radio UWB signals employing a Mach-Zehnder modulator and a differential photodiode is proposed. Impulse-radio UWB is generated, up-converted to 24 GHz vehicular radar band in a proof-of-concept experiment.
