Abstract
Recent research suggests that some students may be gaining law degrees despite inadequate levels of literacy. Why won’t the regulator act?
This article considers the failure of the Quality Assurance Agency to investigate problems which have been identified in the assessment of literacy on law degrees. Competence in Literacy is supposed to be a requirement for completion of a law degree, but reseach suggests that students who are not competent in literacy may nevertheless obtain law degrees because of systemic failures.
