Additional Information: | This article provided the foundation and impetus for the formation of a Development Studies Association study group on the Public Faces of Development made up of academics, staff from NGOs and other development organizations and policy makers. Meetings have been held at conferences at Glasgow University and the Open University, and a research seminar on linking research and practice was run in London. The themes of the paper were summarised in the newsletter of the British Overseas NGOs for Development (BOND) – the umbrella organization for UK development organizations. |
