Additional Information:	Only invited keynote paper in the photovoltaic systems area and one of only two in the photovoltaics area. This conference is the biannual meeting of the European Solar Energy Society and covers all solar technologies. Submitted papers are reviewed by a committee of European experts. The paper is based on the author’s as the sub-group leader for Photovoltaic Systems within the Science, Technology and Applications Working Group of the European Photovoltaic Technology Platform. Also based on the author’s work on the technical assessment of the UK Photovoltaic Domestic Field Trial (funded by DTI).
