Additional Information: | This paper is a good example of international collaboration which resulted in publication in a prestige journal. The work was sponsored by Northumbria University and CheungKong Scholar Programme of China and conducted in collaboration with Chongqing University, China and Mott MacDonald, Glasgow, UK. The Doubly-fed Induction Generator (DFIG) is ideal for applications such as wind, pumped storage and micro-hydro power plants which inherently favour variable speed operation. This paper is a step forward to improve the overall performance of the DFIG and promote renewable energy. |
