Abstract
Computer simulations are often an attractive alternative to experimental work carried out to reinforce theoretical concepts learnt in lectures. In this article MATLAB is used to demonstrate the ease with which many communication systems can be simulated and their behaviour analysed. To illustrate this, the essential codes for the MATLAB simulations are provided, together with sample results for both analogue and pulse modulation schemes.
