Abstract

Discusses the case of R v Asmelash [2013] EWCA Crim 157, which confirms that, for the purposes of the defence of loss of control, voluntary intoxication on the part of the defendant is to be disregarded when the jury is considering whether a 'normal' person would have reacted as the defendant did.
