Abstract

There is a paucity of information concerning the practicalities of human resource calculations for health care education programmes. In this article, key factors which determine the need for accurate assessment of human resource calculations within midwifery education are explored. Potential methods of human resource calculations are discussed and evaluated using a hypothetical example. A theoretical model is proposed as a framework to outline the elements of and factors for consideration, to guide the process of future calculations.
