The Context-Mechanism-Outcome (CMO) configuration continues to be much debated amongst realist academics. The presentation explains how a figure to operationalise CMO configurations has been developed (Dalkin et al. 2015), visiting previous versions of our own and others’ diagrammatic conceptualisations. The presentation ends with a series of reflections as a result of the process, with engagement and debate encouraged from delegates to progress our thinking as a realist community.
