The paintings offer colour. There is a continuing interest in the iterative mark as an act of production and in the degeneration of the grid. Some of the works have a bulging surface or simulate a toppling castle of building blocks. They shift uneasily from the two-dimensional through optical play of colour tone and scale but they never quiteclaim to produce three-dimensional illusion. They appear to hold onto the two dimensions with a rather shaky cartoon like grip.
