Abstract

Examines the difficulties which restrictions imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic pose for the completion of house sales, and whether force majeure clauses and the doctrine of frustration may help address the problems. Reviews the requirements for force majeure, including its cumulative characteristics, and the types of relief available. Discusses the situations in which a contract may be frustrated and what constitutes a frustrating event.
