Abstract

Within rehabilitative practice access to learning has until recently focused around the library, relevant conferences and workshops, and face-to-face discussions with peers. In an increasingly technologically focused environment, the means by which practitioners and students can now access resources can be overwhelming. From virtual conferences to social networking, the breadth of materials to support practice is almost infinite. In particular, mobile devices such as smart phones and iPads, and related software applications, known as 'apps', now provide such flexible access to resources as to be, from personal experience, potentially addictive. A review of some potentially useful apps may be of help in negotiating what can be a daunting field for the uninitiated.
