Abstract

Round Table Discussion

A discussion about the completion of a small action research case study of current masters students’ which was undertaken to ascertain how to promote and improve the student experience; to enable distance learning students to view issues holistically and become active inquirers. The motivation for the research was to investigate and, where necessary, address or challenge a perceived concern that the distance learning students might be disadvantaged in their learning journey simply due to the method of delivery by distance. The aim of the research was to ascertain the reality of the perceived concerns and to consider whether curriculum design and assessment could be utilised to improve the student experience and contribute to the students’ development.
