Abstract
This paper was inspired by the circumstances around the withdrawal of my workspace five years after retirement. It is written from an autoenthographic perspective, and this small account leads to questions about the relationship between space and self - the physicality of reality and what constitutes the fact so created. That these questions are asked via the fiction of the autobiographical is also explored, as is the nature of autoethnography.
