Abstract
It is without dispute that climate change is perhaps the most pressing challenge of our time. Its impacts will be far reaching for society both now and in the future. Most governments have recognised that human activities are the predominant cause of climate change and increasingly business organisations are seeking to address climate related issues through their strategies and operations. There is clearly a need then to incorporate climate change into management education to ensure that current and future leaders are equipped to address climate related challenges and opportunities. Despite this, little is known about how, when, and indeed if climate change issues are addressed in business and management curricula. We set out to address this gap and identify good practice related to climate related teaching in management education through an international survey of business and management academics. Preliminary results indicate most respondents agree that climate change should be addressed within management schools. Few however are teaching it themselves or are aware of other colleagues who are. Reasons include a lack of expertise among staff, competition for space in the curriculum and a paucity of adequate teaching materials. We will conclude with some ideas on how to address this gap.
