Abstract

Hello, my name is Jenny and for the duration of GIFT I will be playing domestic goddess and embarking on a cake-baking marathon. Join me in my fantasy kitchen cake-shop and share unique recipes for cakes designed as gifts especially for significant others. Dedicate a cake to a family member, a special friend, a long-lost lover, that certain someone one who never lets you down, the person you no longer know but will never forget, the one that changed your life, hurt you, made you laugh, made you cry, the one that always understands, or the one that doesn’t - and never will - exist. Request a gift for the neighbour that you never see, the man you pass in the street, the person who you most want to impress, or simply want to make smile. Design a gift for someone far away, someone lost, someone lonely, or a friend that needs you. Say ‘thank you’, ‘I love you’, ‘I know you’, ‘I’ve not forgotten you’. Celebrate a certain someone for their brilliance, their charm, their wisdom or their beautiful eyes. These cakes are gifts in whatever form you choose, and some of these will be baked, decorated and displayed in my kitchen over the weekend. Feel free to browse my kitchen, watch me work, keep me company, drink cups of tea, share cake memories, take photographs, and, if you’re lucky, you might even get to lick the bowl!
