The exhibited work was a large scale publicly sited sculptural construction, designed to a specific brief to create an archway into the Championship’s focus for activities in George Square. The brief also required designing the brand for Festival 2018, the cultural programme accompanying the Athletics Championships. The research fits alongside broad research themes of contemporary arts instrumentalisation within both cultural regeneration and large-scale cultural-event contexts.
