Following a review of publicly available secondary data on the Australian international education industry (IEI), this paper provides an overview on the background issues and contemporary challenges of the Australian IEI. Then, in relation to the discussed challenges of the industry and the consultation/opinion of the key stakeholders, this paper develops insights on a particular research problem, related to the IEI. The research problem focuses on three key issues, which are elaborately discussed, in support of the overall arguments of the paper.
